AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — Nimag, Dutch distributor of Suzuki cars and motorcycles, has teamed up with Progress Europe to create a tuner special Grand Vitara, which is being exhibited at the AutoRai Show in Amsterdam.
Last year Suzuki actively encouraged tuners in North America to work on their models. Now it seems the same trend is happening in Europe.
Progress Europe works for various carmakers in Europe and is engaged mainly in developing aerodynamic body modifications. Nimag entrusted the company with the whole development process of the Grand Vitara Bandit, a surfer's delight.
A new, rather aggressive-looking front end is the most obvious change, but there are others. According to a member of the Suzuki Forums Web site who participated in the creation of the prototype, modifications include wider fenders to accommodate the bigger 15-inch wheels, a new roof rack, a new rear door, a revamped exhaust system, a Pioneer sound system, teak-wood flooring, a wakeboard, an outboard motor and plenty of additional lights.
