Well, This is Embarrassing: Aston Martin One-77 has the Hiccups…

It's never a pleasant experience should your vehicle stall on a heavily trafficked public road with a lot of people watching, but we can't help but think that it has to be worse when it occurs to a €1.1+ million (US$1.3 million) Aston Martin One-77 that's capable of reaching a top speed of about 220mph (355 km/h).

And that is exactly what happened to one of the 77 owners of the exclusive Aston Martin model, not once, but more than a couple of times somewhere in France.

For the record, the One-77's 750bhp 7.3-liter V12 powerplant is linked to a six-speed automated manual gearbox with column-mounted paddles. Hop over the jump to check out the video.

First Production Aston Martin V12 Zagato to Debut at Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance

We were expecting to see the final production version of the Aston Martin V12 Zagato at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show but instead the British company turned one of the racing concepts into a road-spec show car to give an indication of what it would look like.

Now the time has come for Aston Martin to put the concepts aside and show the first finished customer car that will make its world premiere at the Kuwait Concours d’ Elegance from February 15 to 18.

Aston Martin Said to Reveal New V12 Vantage Roadster Next Year

While Aston Martin may not have a lot of cash going around for the development of new platforms or engines, the British automaker is trying to make the best of what it already has.

What this means is that it is churning all sorts of models and body styles based on the same hardware (and design…) for almost a decade now...

We're not sure how long Aston Martin can keep doing it - some say it has already reached its limits - but for the time being, we learn that the company will unveil yet another version of one of its existing models, the V12 Vantage Roadster.

Aston Martin Attempts to Justify the Unjustified with Cygnet Video

A Toyota iQ with the 1.33-liter gasoline engine will set you back £12,775 (US$19,900 or €15,100) in Britain. A base Aston Martin Cygnet with the same drivetrain will cost you £31,000 (US$48,300 or €36,300) but can approach the £50,000 mark (!), depending on the edition.

If you do the math, you'll find that the entry-level Cygnet costs almost two and a half times more than the car it is based on, and which is available in North America under the Scion brand with prices starting from $15,995.

2011 Aston Martin Cygnet

The new 2011 Aston Martin Cygnet is either a wonderfully brilliant way to create a pile of income and cut CO2 pollutants, or an abomination not fit to use the well-known winged logo, based on whom you chat to.

2012 Aston Martin Cygnet
Now we’ve influenced the Aston Martin Cygnet in its normal metropolis environment. Go through our first travel evaluation to uncover out why we continue to be puzzled and less than assured.

Well, certainly nothing in the powerplant bay or the case itself. Aston has selected not to improve the technical offer at all. The Aston Martin Cygnet gets the bigger 1.33-litre VVT powerplant (there’s no 1.0-litre option) with 97bhp at 6000rpm and 92lb ft at 4400rpm. You can have a six-speed guide at £30,995 or a CVT vehicle at £32,115. That creates this Aston rather, erm, slowly. It clothes out at 106mph and protects the 0-62mph rush in a yawning 11.8 mere a few moments. However, zipping through Manchester it seems just about fast enough, although it needs to be revved quite challenging to produce the things.

2012 Aston Martin Cygnet
The actual alteration is the outside appearance and the within meals. There can be normal buckskin everywhere within and Aston state is uses the same amount of conceals to reduce a Cygnet as it does a DB9 or Virage. The outcome is rather odd. It’s excellent that some of the iQ’s low quality reduce is included up, but the way the beautiful Aston elements buttocks up against inexpensive nasty is very odd like the 2011 Scion IQ.

It can not quite cover up the easy root base of the Cygnet. The get addresses are a example. Simple, inexpensive nasty things included in hand-stitched normal buckskin. What did Government say about pigs and lip gloss again? There are 22 different conceals provided and 30 outside colors. If you want a different color, it’ll be an additional £5495.

2012 Aston Martin Cygnet
Externally the Cygnet only stocks a top section with the iQ, everything else is unique. So there are new home cases, wings, hood, lumination units… the listing goes on. Once all the sections are refitted the exterior is flatted and then displayed in Aston’s own model for the entire Aston-quality complete. It certainly looks magnificently completed and it’s chunkier and more expensive-looking than the iQ. However, most will discover the Aston grill looks a bit incongruous. I know we like to complain that all Astons look the same… but this could be a move too far!

Not like any Aston I’ve ever influenced. The within is leagues before iQ with regards to elements and complete but I’m not sure it actually seems unique. Just a bit inquisitive. Dynamically it’s not exactly effervescent with Aston DNA either. The guide ‘box is very horrible, the trip is unsettled due to that shorter wheelbase and the reduce reply is very smooth and sluggish. This is, of course, all down to the iQ contributor car, but the cost and the logo say Aston, so it’s right to anticipate a top quality generating practical knowledge.

2012 Aston Martin Cygnet
However, Aston Martin Cygnet is a car targeted at those with an compulsion to luxurious manufacturers and deeply enough purses not to fear about the odd zero here and there. The kind of individual who might invest £3000 on a made-to-measure fit or £5000 on a bag. By the response around Manchester to the Cygnet, it certainly does not go undetected. And lots of individuals much chilly than I seemed to think it was ‘beautiful’.

The Cygnet’s powertrain symbolizes several firsts for a present day Aston Martin. It is the first Aston Martin in more than 60 decades to use a four pump powerplant, in this situation a small, unprocessed 1.3-liter model generating the same 94 power and 89 lb-ft. of twisting as the iQ.

2012 Aston Martin Cygnet
Sadly, the 2011 Aston Martin Cygnet is also the first Aston of all a chance to use a consistently diverse indication, a buzzy and droning system also obtained from the iQ that is designed to eke out every last MPG from the small powerplant. Petrol overall performance is a mixed 37 MPG. Read also some articles about newest cars like the 2012 Acura MDX and 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan.

George Harrison's 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Fetches More Than Half a Million Dollars at London Auction

Some people seem to have Midas touch - whatever they touch turns into gold. That is true about ex-Beatle star George Harrison, whose 1965 Aston Martin DB5 changed hands for an astonishing £350,000 or about US$546,000 / €410,000, after a fierce bidding war from fans around the world at the COYS True Greats Auction in London.

The winning bid came from an anonymous Beatle and Aston Martin fan from Houston in Texas who said: "George Harrison would be amazed about all the money his car is going to raise for Christian causes."

Rare Classic Cars Including a DB5 Owned by George Harrison Going Under the Hammer

An Aston Martin DB5 or a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster is, no doubt, a sought-after classic that commands a high price. The bill, however, rockets skywards when a celebrity has owned the classic, as is the case with some of the 36 cars going under the hummer in the Coys True Greats auction that will be held in London on December 7.

“There are some extremely interesting cars on offer which could be the ultimate Christmas present,” said Managing Director of COYS, Chris Routledge. “The classic car market is one that is still buoyant and many people are looking at cars as an investment that is also fun.”

2011 Aston Martin DB9 Review

In the most significant software upgrades since its world premiere in 2003, Aston Martin DB9 series has received a complete range of accessories design, engineering and equipment.

As the most successful Aston Martin of all time (an honor shared with the V8 Vantage) the DB9 has established itself as the final big GT, with a durable combination of elegance, character and authentic sporting luxury.

2011 Aston Martin DB9
For Dr Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, Aston Martin DB9 is still a very special car: "The DB9 is the quintessential sports tourer and great offers an unparalleled combination of driver involvement, character, luxury and refinement of this car combines our unique Aston. Martin character with an uncompromising design philosophy, craftsmanship and trademark Aston Martin performance capability. "

This new package of improvements compliments these core qualities perfectly. Subtle styling changes freshen the Aston Martin DB9, a new look front bumper, grille polished and re-shaped lower intake with a bright hexagonal mesh. The new headlight frames, re-shaped skirts in silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels, clear rear lights complete the exterior modifications objectives.

2011 Aston Martin DB9
Under the skin Aston Martin DB9 passive damping has been replaced by a new adaptive damping system (ADS), which provides an improved ride with sharper handling when the device is in Sport mode. The ADS system is offered as standard equipment across the range Aston Martin DB9, encompassing both Coupe and 2012 Aston Martin Virage (convertible). A monitoring system pressure tires, a revised Bluetooth microphone and adding a new double Apex alloy finish trim and Bang & Olufsen hi-fi options to expand Aston Martin DB9 specification.

The introduction of the DB9 marked the beginning of the 21st century, Aston Martin, rebirth. The first model to be built at Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, and the first to be built around Aston Martin rigid, lightweight bonded aluminum VH architecture, Aston Martin DB9 was an immediate success and unprecedented, establishing a new tone for Aston Martin in the future.

2011 Aston Martin DB9
Since its launch in 2003 some 12,500 were produced DB9S delivered to customers in 34 countries. This model determines the most successful Aston Martin of all time (along with the V8 Vantage), surpassing the total sales of the DB7. Aston Martin DB9 current production volume is approximately 1,500 cars per year.

Since the introduction of an Aston Martin DB9 has shown versatility VH architecture, the development of Vantage, DBS and Rapide model ranges. The process of Aston Martin engineers have received more and more precise understanding of the VH, which in turn has led to a steady improvement and development of existing ready-made templates.

In this latest package of improvements to DB9, hardware changes focus on the substrate, where the standard Adaptive Damping System (ADS), which provides a system to continuously evaluate the condition of optimal damper, similar to patterns seen DBS and Rapide. Controlled by a button on the center console, two-stage adaptive dampers can change the default mode, which is optimized for comfort and firmer Sport mode, which produces a tighter body control and responsive feel. Such is the success that the attenuation of the new DB9 DB9 Sports Pack update was interrupted. However, sport design alloy wheels are optionally available.

2011 Aston Martin DB9
Performance comes courtesy of Aston Martin celebrated 6.0-liter V12 engine that develops 470bhp and 442 pounds feet of torque unchanged. Coupled to choose a six-speed 'Touchtronic' paddle-shift six-speed automatic or H-pattern manual transmission, offers a DB9 intoxicating mix of rhythm and sporting effort. 190 mph top speed and the ability to hit 60 mph just 4.6sec seal its credibility in the final 2 +2 GT.

Improve what many consider one of the most beautiful cars in the world is a delicate exercise. According to the Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman, refinement and fine attention to detail is the key. "The beauty of Aston Martin, its harmonious proportions, ground-hugging position, surface taut and a complete and thorough attention to detail DB9 is these qualities, it's nice, but subtle - not looking for attention."

A new front bumper is the most important change, which re-taking the form of lower hexagonal mesh with a brilliant finish to congratulate the new grid. New headlights frames complete treatment fresh nose. Side skirts DB9 has been changed, with important "hockey stick" curve above the rear wheels. Marek Reichman said: "The DB9 is one of the most beautiful cars in the world of sports and is instantly recognizable as an Aston Martin, the changes we have introduced here to modernize the DB9 to keep at the forefront of automotive design."

Other changes include silver brake calipers, 20-spoke diamond turned alloy wheels as standard, with new design option wheels and a mesh surface light. Clear lens tail lights are also standard. Interior finish alloy Double Apex is now added to the list of options, with the exceptional BeoSound audio system from Bang & Olufsen. DB9 is a car that is quite popular from 2003 until today. In 2008 aston martin competing in the race for market share with Rolls Royce Phantom.

2011 Aston Martin DB9
Reflecting the success road racing 2011 Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin Racing DBR9 and DBRS9 endurance runners proved a huge success on the circuits around the world. With a total of about 20 DBR9 and 30 DBRS9 built and delivered to customer teams around the world, constantly Aston Martin victories in a host of national and international championships.

Fake Videos of the Day: Tank Crashes Aston Martin & Mad Man Cuts Off Parking Meter

As you probably should already know by now, not everything you see and read on Youtube is real. One recent example was a video showing a new Lexus IS F being crushed, and which many websites rushed to adopt the poster's unfounded claims that it was destroyed for street racing by California authorities.

Today, we stumbled upon two more clips, one allegedly showing a man cutting off a parking meter with a saw after receiving a ticket, and another with an Abrams tank destroying an Aston Martin coupe.

Watch an Aston Martin Rapide Crash Filmed from the Inside

Most people tend to freak out after an accident with their cars even if there are no fatalities or injuries, but not Mr. Roberto Ricci, who had the misfortune of wrecking his prized Aston Martin Rapide sports saloon during a joy ride.

If you see Ricci's super cool reaction after the crash, you'd think that the Rapide suffered only a few minor scratches, when reality is that the car was brutally bashed / borderline repairable write-off.

The incident occurred in late July when Ricci, who is the founder and owner of RRD, makers of surfboards, windsurfs, sails and kites, took Dave White, editor of Mpora, for a quick ride in his Rapide after a guided tour of his company's facilities in Italy.
