Chevrolet Malibu

Chevrolet has released images of the all-new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, which will be formally unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show next week. The new Malibu shares a revised version of the Epsilon platform with the Pontiac G6 and the Saturn Aura. To face its main competitors on the North-American market - the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry - the Malibu's wheelbase has increased by six inches.

To overcome the former Malibu's reputation as an uninspired sedan, careful attention has been paid to design coherence, material quality and clear brand identity. The expressive front end of the car features the dual-port grille, which is said to be the "new face of Chevrolet". This fresh new look is completed by round taillights, clean body sides with wheel-oriented forms, a dynamic stance and a lower yet longer greenhouse. The interior is said to have a much more upscale look and feel by the use of premium materials and a two-tone trim pattern.
