TORRANCE, Calif. — Toyota has confirmed several debuts for the 2007 Chicago Auto Show, including the 2008 Scion xD, redesigned '08 Scion xB and '08 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid.
The Scion xD, a compact sedan, is slated to replace the outgoing xA and is expected to hit showrooms in spring 2007. In an unusual part of the Scion reveal, the automaker will also stage a simultaneous press conference in Scion City, in the virtual world "Second Life," to introduce the computer-simulated versions of the '08 models. The Scion unveilings will take place February 8.
Toyota will host the world premiere of the 2008 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs on February 7. The Highlander is said to be redesigned on the Avalon platform and gets larger to accommodate the bigger, redesigned RAV4 in the Toyota lineup.
