1989 BMW 750iL V12 with Only 3,000 Miles but an Asking Price of $48k

In 1987, BMW made history with the presentation of its first ever V12 automobile (the company had made V12 engines before but they were used on aircrafts) and the first 12-cylinder German car in almost half a century, the 750i and its long wheelbase sibling, the 750iL from the E32 series.

Codenamed M70, the 5.0-liter V12 engine produced an output of 300bhp (304PS/224kW) and a peak torque of 450 Nm (332 lb·ft) and was linked to a four-speed ZF automatic transmission. The same powertrain also found its way under the hood of the 850i in 1989.

With more than two decades on its back and a hefty price tag at its time, the E32 750i / 750iL is not an easy find today - let alone in pristine condition, which makes this 1989 750iL that's up for grabs on eBay all the more interesting.

Located in Florida, the burgundy colored 750iL has only a mere 3,000 miles (about 4,800 kilometers) on its odometer, which virtually makes the car brand new!

BMW 730i Pickup Truck Should be Put Out of its Misery

While we're no strangers to regular sedan or coupe model being butchered into pickup trucks, there are some conversions that literally beg to de destroyed.

One such example was found at German used car dealership "PKWundLKWankauf" (try saying that it twice).

The victim is an E32 BMW 730i sedan, which left the Munich brand's factory in 1989 fitted with an 188HP 3.0-liter straight six coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.

A Look at Some of the More Odd Creations of BMW's Individual Division

For the past few decades, BMW's Individual customization division has been catering to the needs of the Bavarian firm's more affluent clientele that are willing to dig a little bit deeper into their pockets to personalize their vehicles.

The firm's Individual workshop promises to fulfill almost any wishes as long as they comply with safety requirements and legal stipulations.

And while one client's request to base all colors used on an M6 Coupe around a Hawaiian Koawood trim worked out nicely (see video here), we can't say the same for the lamb wool floor mats found on a 2008 7-Series or the custom fabric interior trim on the 1992 7-Series.

Bring in the Light: BMW 7-Series with Glowing Rims

We are not sure if we should call this mod cool or way over the top, but the glowing rims on the Bangle-era BMW 7-Series saloon certainly captured our attention, which was probably why the owner of the vehicle put them on in the first place.

You can check them out for yourself in the short video clip right after the jump.

10 Luxury Cars of the Past You Can Afford to Buy Today

No matter what car you buy, its price will start depreciating from the moment you turn the ignition key and roll out of the showroom. Of course, not all models lose value at the same rate. But there are some cars that stand out more than others and Popular Mechanics has compiled a list with some of the most heavily depreciated vehicles in the luxury car segment.

And while this may not be the kind of news a seller wants to hear, it's music to the ears of buyers in the market for snazzy set of wheels. Just remember that regardless if the car is new or used, running costs remain the same, and when it comes to luxury models, be prepared to dig deep into your pockets.

Polk Reports BMW, Mercedes and Lexus Losing Large Luxury Sedan Market Share to Audi, Jaguar and Porsche

In the large luxury sedan stakes, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus have been the long-time leaders. Five years ago, each brand’s flagship model – the 7-Series, the S-Class and the LS – collectively owned 82% of the U.S. market and Merc’s offering could claim 30% of that.

Between June 2010 and May of this year, however, their collective market share has dwindled some 68% while that of three newer models have grown.

There’s the Audi A8, up 5% and the Jaguar XJ, up 12%. Both of these models could claim next to nothing of the market when they were launched but now look at them.

Feds Probe E65/E66 BMW 7-Series after Cars Break Free in Park

U.S. safety regulators are investigating an estimated 120,000 BMW 7-Series sedans from the 2002 to 2008 model years (E65 and E66) after receiving a complaint from a consumer alleging a roll-away incident after parking and exiting a 2006MY BMW 7 Series.

It Came from eBay Hell: BMW 745i All Donked up

Many will claim the E65 7-Series was Chris Bangle’s most controversial design during his time at the helm of BMW's styling division. And they could be right. Even though close to a decade has passed since the presentation of the E65, its styling has yet to grow on many fans of the brand.

But if you think that the regular 7-Series looked odd, then wait until you get a glimpse of this stud found –where else- on eBay: a 2003 745i sporting a two-tone black and silver paintjob, high-riding on massive 24-inch chrome wheels and decorated with more chrome bits than a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado.

If you want to see more photos, follow the jump for the complete gallery.

Would You or Wouldn’t You: Fiero-Based Lamborghini Diablo Replica with BMW V12 Power

If a Fiero-based Ferrari replica is a “Fierrari”, then I figure its Lamborghini equivalent must be a “Lambieroghini”. Here’s one such monstrosity for sale on eBay, though on closer inspection there’s a lot to like about it.

For one, though it’s incomplete, much of the grunt work has already been done. The unpainted fibreglass body that replicates the Diablo VT 6.0's styling has been mated to the tubular steel frame and the gas door struts, power window motors and headlights have all been installed.

Also, the brake rotors are from a Corvette and the wheels are genuine 2004 Lamborghini Murciélago 18-inch stock clad in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

SCOOP: Early Prototype of 2013 BMW 7-Series Facelift

With the fifth-generation of the BMW 7-Series limousine codenamed F01 entering its third year in production, it’s time for the Bavarian company to begin readying a mid-life facelift for its flagship model.

Our spies snagged a lightly camouflaged prototype of the 7-Series bearing the ActiveHybrid 7 badges while testing in Germany. Judging by the parts of the car hidden under masking tape, there should be some minor styling changes to the front and rear bumpers as well as to the headlamps and tail light graphics.

Multicultural BMW 728i with Shelby Mustang Front and Nissan Skyline GT-R Rear End

You'll be hard-pressed to come across a more bizarre replica than this BMW 7-Series-based model, which was found for sale in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by Carscoop reader Ahmad. If you do, please don’t hesitate to contact us…

Now, what we have here is a BMW E23 model, or to put it more simply, a first-generation 7-Series sedan. To be precise, it’s a 1985 728i that left the Bavarian firm’s factory with a 2.8-liter inline-six gasoline unit delivering 184 horsepower.

For aesthetic reasons us ordinary mortals would find hard to comprehend, the owner of the BMW went and transformed the front-end of the 728i in the likes of a Shelby Mustang, and the rear to imitate the look of a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. Feel free to check out the rest of the pictures after the jump and have your say in the comments section below.
